Brand strategy is one of those things everyone thinks AI can handle. They're not entirely wrong.
AI can generate a positioning statement, write a brand narrative, and produce something that looks, at a glance, like strategy. The problem is that after a decade of doing this work with real companies—more than 200 engagements, across industries, stages, and categories—I can tell that AI is still not capable of the type of nuance and rigor that a brand strategist is.
Good brand strategy requires a trained eye to know which questions to ask, which answers to distrust, and what the gap between the two actually means. While AI can't do this yet, it does have something my clients do want: speed, accessibility, and an appealing price point.
So I built the Brand Clarity Index to give clients both. The diagnostic framework, scoring criteria, and the logic behind every recommendation come from my experience. The delivery is AI-assisted, which means you get a senior strategist's thinking in your inbox in minutes, not months.
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Our Mission
The Brand Clarity Index exists to give every founder access to the kind of rigorous, nuanced strategic thinking that changes how they make decisions.

About Shelby
Shelby Chambers is a brand strategist, fractional CMO, and executive coach with eighteen years of marketing experience and more than 200 client engagements across startups, scale-ups, and global brands. She holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson, is an ICF-trained executive coach, and spent 9 years internally at Disney, where she developed her love for brand strategy.
The Brand Clarity Index was born out of a specific frustration: watching clients abandon rigorous brand thinking in favor of an AI-generated strategy that was fast, cheap, and functioned poorly. She spent considerable time testing whether AI could do what she does. It cannot (yet). Not without someone who has spent years learning what questions to ask, which answers to distrust, and what the gap between the two actually costs a business in time, people, and budget.
The Brand Clarity Index is not AI doing brand strategy. It is her methodology, her diagnostic criteria, and two decades of hard-won pattern recognition, delivered at a price point and speed that make it possible to actually use.
